Collin talking

Collin loves to talk to mommy. He loves join mommy in song. Unfortunately, he was very confused with the camera between us. You can see his puzzlement, and reluctance to talk in Video 1. He did better in Video 2 & 3. Sorry for the sound quality. Enjoy!

Dr visit Today.

Collin went to the Dr. Today. He got vaccinated on both thighs. He is not happy that he got 4 shots. He has been crying a lot. Poor Kid.
He weighs 10lbs, 4 1/4 oz and is 22 1/4 inches long. He is getting so big. Collin is going bald on the left side of his head, because he rubs it in his sleep with his arm. The other arm is usually over his right eye. He sleeps in his crib most nights, except when mommy expects daddy to get up with Collin in the morning.

Crib

We put up Collin's crib yesterday. He likes it as long as I am in the room with him. He is not ready to night sleep away from mommy yet, but he took an okay nap in it today. That is, until the Landlord started fixing our porch.

We spent Thanksgiving with Aaron's family on the farm. Everyone loved Collin. I got to take a 3 hour nap while every one held him. Aaron had a bottle to feed him, so everyone was happy.

Collin Update

For some reason, the laptop won't publish my posts. I have to write, save, and then have someone downstairs publish it. So, posting is taking longer than I thought it would. I was planning to post more often about Collin. Here it goes.

Collin is out of newborn diapers. He is sleeping 4-5 hours at a time. Dr. Stone makes me wake Collin up at 5 hours (Dr. Stone frowns on sleeping through the night the first month). At night Collin has a eating marathon, and I am glad that I am pumping extra during the day, because I don't have enough for him at night without being really uncomfortable.

Collin met his birth weight at his last Dr. appointment, and has started having more wet diapers then dirty ones. Yeah! I was wondering if that was ever going to happen. All the Parenting books say that he should have had a lot more wet diapers.

Collin likes to be held all afternoon. Right now I am in my jammies, with a robe over them, and Collin between the layers.

Being a Mom

Being a mom is about what I expected. Collin has been really good, which helps. We have only had one sleepless night, and I am really spoiled by it. Aaron is sleeping on the Futon tonight, so that he can sleep tonight (sleepless night was last night, Aaron is really tired). Collin like to try to sleep through feedings, and waking him really sucks. He likes to sleep for 3+ hours at a time, even though it makes him super hungry when we wake him. He loves to be held by daddy. Mommy can't just hold him, because he tries to marathon feed. 2 hours feeding time, just to have him spit most of it up is very frustrating. Collin and Daddy are snuggling right now. It is so cute to see Collin gaze up at Daddy.

Printer Success!

I have decided that Cannon is a lot easier to install than HP. It took me only 20 minutes and all the features work. No need to call IT! Yeah.

Week 29

11 more weeks to go. What a crazy life this is.

I survived another round of layoffs at work. Hopefully, with the summer season drawing to an end, it will be our last round. Aaron is still looking for a teaching job, and is working a temp job in the meantime.

We have decided to never buy an HP printer again. We have bought (or received replacements) on 3 printers from them, and we have spent over 6 hours on the phone with technical support. The last straw was when the HP IT agent deleted Microsoft Office from our computer. Aaron had to do a system restore to get Office working again. Thankfully we invested in a backup hard drive last year. Nothing was lost. Still, never letting them ever touch our computer again. Any suggestions on a different brand?

Long awaited update

Last week work laid off a bunch of people. Our department of 12 lost 3, so we are now just 9. I was fairly sure I was safe, because I have been cross trained in every position. They would need me to cover for anyone that was laid off. I was right, but there is one person I will miss.

Aaron dropped off the cat at Cheryl’s on Tuesday of last week, so I am going through BJ withdrawal… Funny thing is I never did until I got pregnant. Now if he doesn’t greet me at the door I want to cry… I blame it on the hormones. I miss my kitty. I’ll get him back soon.

Aaron and I just got back from a trip to Grace’s house. We went up Thursday after work and arrived just after Midnight on Friday Morning. Mom bought me this really awesome rocking chair and the baby complains every time I get out of it. I am so comfortable sitting in it. Mom also bought me a sleep and play bouncer. She gave me a pack ‘n play, a high chair, clothes, and a bunch of bedding. My shopping list is now half off what it was, a real blessing.

Aaron graduates in a couple of weeks. I’m proud of him. He has worked really hard. He is looking for a job, so if you see any positions for a math teacher, let us know.

Sick

I thought morning sickness was supposed to get better in the 2nd tri......why is it worse!!
Other than that I am good.
